Non-Profit Organization Making Lives Better with Alorica Expands into its Fourth Country—Canada

Making Lives Better with Alorica (MLBA), a non-profit dedicated to doing exactly that for people in need around the world, today announced it has expanded its reach to a fourth country. MLBA Canada is kicking off with three chapters in the region—Hamilton, Montreal and Toronto.

“MLBA is built on the belief that family takes care of family. It’s a privilege and a joy to now support these communities, Alorica employees and their families with these three new chapters,” said Joyce Lee, Founder and President of MLBA. “We thank the Canadian government for welcoming us, and we are thrilled to foster key relationships with local leaders in an effort to make a difference for those in need.”

Each MLBA chapter is led by a board made up of Alorica team members, who rally employees at each site to fundraise, direct how funds are allocated to individuals and other non-profit organizations in local communities and organize all volunteering programs. The chapters also receive ongoing support from the organization’s board of directors—Joyce Lee (Founder and President), Jay King (Vice President), Yvonne May (Secretary), Cece Pan (Treasurer) and Kenneth Fraser (Director).

Since its inception nearly three years ago, MLBA has raised over $3 million dollars through Alorica payroll contributions and chapter fundraisers. Of the funds collected, more than 5,400 grants have been awarded— totaling in excess of $2.5 million. In addition to these funds, we’ve also collected over $200,000 for the MLBA Disaster Relief Fund, benefiting those affected by natural disasters.

About Making Lives Better with Alorica

Making Lives Better with Alorica (MLBA), a 501(c)(3) non-profit founded in 2015, takes the traditional approach to corporate philanthropy and turns it on its head. Instead of corporate headquarters deciding where to give charitable contributions, Alorica Inc., the world’s largest provider of customer experiences to North American consumers, empowers its employees at each of its nearly 100 chapters across the United States, Philippines, Mexico and Canada to support local causes and individuals that matter most to them.
